My Mom's Birthday

My Mom's Birthday is coming up soon-on April 28th.

Last Year I Fed-exed her a cake for her birthday. (Considering I live 1600 miles away from her, it is not easy to traditionally bake her a cake! She is in Wisconsin.  I am in California.)

My mom has done so many wonderful things for me, it was worth it to take the time to decorate the cake and know I was taking a risk that the creation could completely demolish if someone carelessly trashed my mom's cake between California and Wisconsin.

I packed the cake with dry ice and a strange paper plate/napkin/paper towel padding and sent it off to my mama.

$60.00 later, she received her cake in the mail and was so ecstatic.
The only thing that happened to the cake is that it looked more like a watercolor painting than the ivory fondant covered cake I originally sent.
The most important thing is that my mom was blown away.
I am definitely going to repeat this amazing handmade gift for my mom again this year!
