Cupcakes for Sweet Nica

First of all, can I just say that Anna, my new friend who ordered the cupcakes in this blog is "THE REASON" why I love delivering cupcakes to people?! It was her daughter Nica's 3rd birthday soiree and I was gladly asked to take charge of the sugar rush (dessert of course!)

Anna gave me the warmest sweetest hug when I arrived with Nica's giant Tinkerbell cupcake. She was BEAMING!

A quote from Anna which will take its place in history on my Amanda Cupcake Facebook page:

Amanda!!!! This is without a doubt the most beautiful and amazing cake I have ever seen and tasted! Our friends and family LOVED the giant cupcake. They were absolutely impressed. They all said they had never seen anything like this and wished you were in milwaukee. Nica was SO in love with the cake too, she just stared at it and checked out every detail. Thank you So sosososo much!

Who wouldn't just float into lightly frosted meringue heaven when hearing such a compliment?

When I arrived with all of the confectionary delights, little Nica was standing at the front door in awe, barely holding back her excitement.

I made Nica a giant chocolate cupcake.
The Frosting was Strawberry Meringue ♥
Tinkerbell crowned the giant cupcake on a sparkly pink rose petal. ♥

The front of the giant cupcake was light pink.
The back of the cupcake faded into a hot pink.

Rosettes, Swirls & Twirls of Au Natural Strawberries.

I created a giant cupcake liner out of chocolate.

Happy!

Filled the cake with strawberries & strawberry meringue.
.
Anna ordered a lot of other cupcakes too-this blog had to be VIP reserved for Nica's giant Tinkerbell cupcake!

A Love Affair with Cake Pops

I adore cake pops.
If you haven't heard of them, you mix your favorite cake crumbs in with your favorite frosting and make balls out of them.  You let them freeze overnight on parchment paper.  In the morning, you dip the cake pops on lollypop sticks into melted chocolate or melted candy wafers.. and decorate them to your heart's content.
They even look pretty when they are bitten into. ♥

I created some for Cronie's Cafe in Waupaca, Wisconsin the other day.
They are renting me their kitchen for commercial use.  I might just be selling an array of cupcake pops there in May! Hooray, one step forward for Amanda Cupcake..and mankind!!

Edible Glittery Heart Shaped Cake Pops that resemble balloons!

Pretty when eaten.

Cake Pops disguised as Ice Cream Cones! They taste like red velvet/cherry♥

I call these the "Tainted Luv" Cake Pops.
Named after a boutique I stumbled upon in Whitewater, WI.
I told the owner Barbara that I would make her Tainted Luv themed cupcakes.
She requested purple.  This is what I came up with!
Oh, Tainted Luv.

My Delicious Philosophy ♥

Imagine going to a museum and you see a piece of artwork.

This artwork means something to you, it calls your name.

What would make this piece of art even better?

If you could eat it! And if it tasted like out of this world unimaginable things.

Like a cloud sweetened with cotton candy.

The cream filling inside of a sprinkled donut.

What if it tasted like how coffee smells?

A cherry jelly belly.

The good stuff in the middle of an Oreo.

How about juicy red strawberries on a hot July day?

An entire pancake breakfast. For dinner.

Sweet and salty.

The chocolate surprise on the bottom of a drumstick.

Can you imagine eating a piece of artwork that tastes like a Milky Way Bar?

What if it tasted like that night you stayed up all night with your best friend eating cookie dough?

Or the cherry on top of your boyfriend's sundae that he hands you because he knows how much you adore cherries?

Maybe it could taste like the time you snuck a scoop of ice cream from the freezer when no one was watching. (At least you don't think anyone was watching).

Or maybe it wasn't a scoop of ice cream but a big scoop of delicious peanut butter right out of the jar?

A soothing margarita that takes you a way to faraway islands.

Or an elegant glass of pink champagne.

This is my "delicious philosophy."

I feel like everything that I create on my little cupcake masterpiece is my way of expressing my artistic side, and sharing my heart.

Then people can eat it! And it warms their tummies.

I especially love the hugs and love I get from people when I deliver the cupcakes.

The moment before they dive in to the goodness.

When their breath is taken away from the beautiful edible delight they see in front of them.

And it's like a dream come true.

The fact that it is pretty makes it yummier.

That is what I have to remind people when they tell me that my cupcakes are too pretty to eat!

I tell them..

"Try it. Don't be afraid that it is pretty. That's why I make it pretty, because pretty tastes better!"

Easter Fun

I have been feeling so guilty because I haven't put anything new on my blog lately..but I have been super busy baking beautiful confections for all of my friends!

So within the next week or so..there will probably be a blog overload to catch you all up on all my fun work!

I made some pretty colorful little Easter-y cupcakes that will make anyone happy.

I call them "Peeps" Cupcakes because I made the frosting with marshmallow fluff as the base and topped them with everyone's favorite treat: Peeps! The cake is white...flavored with a creamy orange extract.
I think these would be really cute if they were delivered in an egg carton. ♥  Just have to find an egg carton big enough to hold regular sized cupcakes!
